About Searson
Please sign in to see more.
This website was created for the September 2013 Searson Clan Gathering in Templemore, Co. Tipperary. My starting point was the letter Frederick Searson (1853-1911) wrote to a cousin in Canada in about 1910. Myself and several others have attempted to put the family information in that letter into a recognizable genealogy database, but along the way, we discovered far more Searson (and variants) names than originally was thought to exist. You will find disconnected lines in this program, where I have merely entered information about people I've found, but have not yet been able to connect them to the main line discussed by Frederick in his letter. A good example of this is the line of Henry Searson and his wife Catherine Spain. While I've been the one to enter the data into this program, I certainly am not the only one who did the research. I've incorporated a great deal of information from Terry Young, who descends from one of the unconnected lines, from Angela Keany, who descends from another unconnected line, and from a 26 year old family tree supplied to me by Raymond Searson, who descends from the original line. Like any other name I have become fascinated with, I suspect I will be adding information to this Searson database for years to come! Welcome, and enjoy yourself!

Getting Around
There are several ways to browse the family tree. The Tree View graphically shows the relationship of selected person to their kin. The Family View shows the person you have selected in the center, with his/her photo on the left and notes on the right. Above are the father and mother and below are the children. The Ancestor Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph above and children below. On the right are the parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. The Descendant Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph and parents below. On the right are the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Do you know who your second cousins are? Try the Kinship Relationships Tool. Your site can generate various Reports for each name in your family tree. You can select a name from the list on the top-right menu bar.

In addition to the charts and reports you have Photo Albums, the Events list and the Relationships tool. Family photographs are organized in the Photo Index. Each Album's photographs are accompanied by a caption. To enlarge a photograph just click on it. Keep up with the family birthdays and anniversaries in the Events list. Birthdays and Anniversaries of living persons are listed by month. Want to know how you are related to anybody ? Check out the Relationships tool.
